Mr. Sickie McSickerson

Here are few pictures of my poor baby. He is sick again. He was well for one week and then the fever came back again. But at least this time I have been lucky enough to be seeing a wonderful dr. that has been listening to me and working hard to help figure out what is going on with Cam. We still aren't sure what is causing him to be sick but we know that he is getting better and that so far any tests are negitive.

So today is MacKenzie's 9th birthday but unfortunately she wasn't able to get the full fanfare. This year since we were doing a huge family get together for both the kids in June I figured that I would take each kid with one of their friends out to do something special on their birthday. And we have also started the family tradition of getting to pick where you want to go to dinner for your birthday. This is a huge deal for MacKenzie since she rarely gets to choose when we do go out. And for whatever reason she just had to go to Applebee's. We have had to postpone her day out with her friend because Cameron is sick again. And dinner was only her and daddy. But to make things a little bit special as soon as Kenzie and Rob left for dinner Cameron and I made cup cakes. Cameron had a blast. He wanted to "I lick, I lick tongue" everything that touched the batter. We have plans to give her the special day that she deserves very soon. I am so lucky that she is a great and understanding little girl.

The Dentist

What a wierdo


So I am trying to catch up on things. On Wednesday June 25th MacKenzie had her first real dentist appointment. I say real because she went to the dentist on base while we were in Germany and it was a total waste of our time. For the cleaning there they counted her teeth and used a tooth brush and toothpaste to clean her teeth. I had some emergency work done a month or so ago and really liked the dentist so I made an appointment for MacKenzie. She was a bit hesitant because she hated the suction wand but both the hygienist and dentist let her hold it and gave her control of the power. She enjoyed herself as much as you can at the dentist. And she even willingly went back the following Monday to have sealants done on four of her teeth. On her visit that Monday we also saw the orthodontist. MacKenzie is extremely excited that she is probably going to need braces. That kid is completely sick in the head. We will see what happens in the next 9 months as far as that is concerned. As for Cameron after a while he warmed up to being there. And I don't know how he maneged to get it but he loved the suction wand too. He sucked his own mouth for at least 20 minutes. We all figured that it was a start to getting him to someday be OK with getting his own teeth checked.

Update

Well a week has gone by and Cameron's ear is back to normal. I was amazing how quickly the meds they gave him at the hospital worked. The next day it look dramatically different. But Cameron couldn't let me off easy. Now we are battling a mystery infection. He started running a fever Sunday. This fever has been crazy it bounces all over the place. It has been running anywhere from 100.7 to 103.3. There is no rhyme or reason to the temps. The thing that we don't understand is he has been on antibiotics since last week. But the dr took a swab and we should have the results back tomorrow. He is so sad. Below is a picture of him right now. He got his nawnees from his room and climbed up on the couch and passed out. I hope that he feels better soon. Thanks Steph and Kim for the well wishes.
