Snow isn't the only thing falling in my backyard!

Cam was running down the hill and fell. Lucky for him there was a trash can filled with frozen ice to catch his fall. I don't know what made him cry more falling and banging up his face or the fact that I made him come in and stay inside.

Finally!!! Some snow

Fun With Chopsticks

So this week I am flying solo with the kids. Nothing new to us. One thing we like about it is that we get to eat all the foods that we like and Rob hates, mainly seafood. We have at least three seafood based meals planned for the week. MacKenzie calls it "Seafoodpaloza". We started the week off with shrimp and scallop stir-fry with lots of mushrooms and broccoli. Last year when my sister went on her high school Senior trip to Disney she brought MacKenzie back a pair of chopsticks. MacKenzie has been pestering me to teach her how to use them. A while back I saw a really cute pair of kids chopsticks in a magazine called "Buddy Chopsticks". I thought they would be the perfect way to teach the kids how to use chopsticks. They are a pair of plastic chopsticks with a little rubber man at the top (his legs are the chopsticks). The little man keeps the chopsticks together and makes the chopsticks spring open when you close them. I hadn't seen them around until the other day while at the grocery store. They had a display with them. I grabbed a pair for each of the kids. When we decided to have stir-fry I knew that it would be the perfect time to try them out. Kenzie took to them very quickly. She really enjoyed trying to pick up just one grain of rice. Cam actually does very well with them considering his age. He tends to man-handle them instead of using them gently but as you can see from the pictures he is able to eat with them. Matter of fact he kept using them even though I had put a fork on the table just in case. The kids had fun and I promised to take them with us the next time we go out and hit the China Buffet.

Mr. Fix-it

Not sure what was wrong but Cam got his toy drill out one day and fixed his bike. It is as good as new.

Hunting for Ghosts and Bats

You never know what the kids will come up with and where they get their ideas from. A few weeks ago we were all sitting down to dinner when Cameron kept talking about ghosts and bats. I have no clue where this came from we haven't been reading any books or watching any shows with them in it but whatever. So he just kept going on and on about how it was dark outside and that he wanted to go hunting for ghosts and bats, ghosts and bats. So after we were all done dinner and I was cleaning up and Cameron mentioned it for the millionth time I told him to go grab his Crocs, suit, hat, and flashlight and I told Kenzie to do the same. It may have been a little cold but at least it made him happy. So after bundling them up I sent them out into the dark backyard. Kenzie didn't want to go because she has herself convinced that there is someone out there that is going to steal her. But I made her go anyway. Then she tried to convince me to leave the light on. Now what fun would that be. How are you going to search for ghosts and bats with a flashlight with the light on? So after a little nudge they went off the deck into the side yard. They spent a good 15-20 minutes out there. Cameron was very happy that he got to hunt for ghosts and bats. You just never know what he is going to come up with next.

Poison'd

Saturday mornings are my mornings to get up with the kiddos so Rob can sleep in. So a few weeks ago I got up with Cameron and took him down to the playroom. I was trying to find something on TV when I entered the wrong number and stumbled across a channel that plays concerts. It just happened to be showing a Poison concert. Poison was popular in the 80's you know one of those 80's hair bands. Well I happen to really like Poison so I left it on and Cameron became hooked. He loved it. He ran to find something to use as a guitar and started playing along. Then I had the idea to set him up a makeshift mic stand. That made him very happy and he played and sung along the best he could. Later Rob and Kenzie got up and Cameron even got them to join in. That kid loves any kind of music.

Ummm Good

Over Christmas break Cameron got a little quiet one day. When we tracked him down this is what we found:

When asked what he had been doing he said "I eat mommy's chocolates". He was in our bedroom and found a bag of mint truffle Hershey's Kisses. Then we asked him how many he ate and he said "2,3,4, Chocolates". When I asked him how many did he really eat he said "5, 6,7, Chocolates" He is like a basset hound he can smell out anything you hide.

What are people thinking????

MacKenize starts ice skating lessons on Saturday. I wanted to get her a pair of ice skates so she wouldn't have to rent skates each week. After a bit of looking around here I decided to put a wanted post on Craigslist, couldn't hurt right. So here is my wanted ad:

Girls Figure Skates

My daughter is starting ice skating lessons this weekend and I am looking for a gently used pair of ice skates for her to start out with. I am not sure what size to get her, she has tiny feet only wearing a 11-12 kids size shoe. If you have a pair you are looking to get rid of or will sell cheap I will meet you any day this week at the Potomac Mills Mall. Please email me with pictures if possible.

Thanks Julie

After a day or two I get one reply from this guy:

HI,I have a pair Micon 91/2 woman sized asking $45 !

So now please tell me how that is going to help me in anyway? Did he not read the wanted ad? I just don't understand what people think when they reply to a Craigslist want ad. Okay vent over.
